Tim Lavery
Tim began his career in management consulting, quickly developing a reputation as a trusted partner for leaders working to execute strategy and navigate change.
After nearly 20 years leading client delivery and market development in the research and development community, Tim transitioned to the global asset management industry where he worked with leaders in North America, Europe and Asia. He continued to consult on organization development, team effectiveness and change while serving as a coach to leaders worldwide.
In 2020, Tim launched Wrench & Socket, fulfilling his long-held vision for building an independent practice that applies his consulting philosophy, shaped by a quarter-century of external and internal consulting and the hard-won lessons learned that came with it.
Tim is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland where he majored in journalism and minored in sociology. He is a certified executive coach through the ICF-approved MMS Worldwide program.
Tim holds change management certifications from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, LaMarsh Global, and ProSci. THE WRENCH & SOCKET STORY
“I am a car guy. When I work with clients and organizations, I see the similarities between a functioning organization and a well-built and maintained machine. They both rely on a well-designed structure, timing and alignment on process, and attention to the individual parts that make up the whole. And when things go wrong, there are often clear, practical steps that can be taken to get the car or team running smoothly again. When I founded Wrench & Socket, I knew that I wanted to help my clients in this same spirit: by providing clear, actionable solutions to the everyday problems that organizations may face.”
